Example- runners on 1st and 3rd, runner on 1st steals 2nd and the runner on 3rd comes home, the runner from 3rd is live and can be tagged out even if he reaches home before he is tagged- there are no free backs, so in this case in order for him to return to 3rd he must retouch home and go back to third without being tagged

Joe Adcock

Trying to sneak a pitch past Hank Aaron is like trying to sneak the sunrise past a rooster.

Satchel Paige

I never threw an illegal pitch. The trouble is, once in a while I toss one that ain't never been seen by this generation.

Bob Uecker

"I knew when my career was over. In 1965, my baseball card came out with no picture."

Leo Durocher

"If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, "Sorry, Mom," but nobody beats me."

Jim Boulton

"Baseball players are smarter than football players. How often do you see a baseball team penalised for too many players on the field."
